Extended family ensure we don't perish and other tales

Yesterday was a day of eating large in the Red River Valley. Wonderful brunch provided by my sister's son's wife and her parents. Huge dinner provided by Jan's daughter's husband's parents. Really gracious hospitality by really extended family. And we may never need to eat again. So that's taken care of.

We also fired off a rocket with granddaughter Hope; rode in (drove, in Jan's case) really, really big space-ship like tractor system things (Wow. Those were not my grandpa's farm implements) and saw replicas of a viking ship, a Norwegian church and trolls. We also lost again at cribbage. All-in-all, a pretty great day. Except for the part about cribbage.

The time with daughter Jill, her husband Mike, and grandchildren Hope and Oscar (and everyone else) was wonderful (again, except for the cribbage part). Comfortable family time.

Heading west today feels like the beginning of something new. In fact, now that we have left Fargo, I am deeper into North Dakota than I have ever been. Looking forward to discovering more.

Favorite vanity plate of the day: LUV2LAF.
