Family and Food in the Colorado Rockies

With niece Brooke, her husband Carlin and their kids Wentzle and Zephyr
While in Breckenridge, we have had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with nieces and great nephews. And to eat well. So this blog is a really just a bunch of family pictures and some restaurant recommendations.

We had a great meal with Brooke, Carlin, and their boys at Mi Casa. We all had different kinds of tacos -- all wonderful. Brooke works for that restaurant -- but regardless, I'd give it many thumbs up!

We need to get Zephyr a red hat!

Wentzle and Zephyr share fried ice cream

Wentzle demonstrates the pocket knife he and his dad put together out of wood?
With niece Lindsay after a great lunch
We had lunch with Lindsay at Blue River Bistro. Superb chicken walnut salad with avocado on whole wheat; with a spinach salad. Lindsay is studying at Aveda Institute. She came over and trimmed Jan's beard -- which he has not been able to do since our trip began. Thanks Lindsay!!!

On a breakfast note: La Francaise has the best almond croissants outside of France. I'm almost certain of that.

And finally: we've done some pretty fabulous cooking while here. It's such a treat to get to eat home cooking while on the road!
