It's Sunday and we've been up for way too many hours because our bodies don't know what time it is. Then midday I made the mistake of sitting down to watch the Indy 500 for a minute and woke up about 90 minutes later, foggy and unable to identify where I was.
I am disoriented! And in more ways than one. Here are the top ways I'm muddled:
1) I have to consciously make myself put the used toilet paper in the toilet. (As the person who empties the bathroom trashcans -- I am happy to relearn this one!)
2) I have to remember that I like tea black. My impulse now is to add lots of sugar. I really did love the Turkish tea custom.
3) I have to remember that most people around me speak English. I went grocery shopping this morning and kept wanting to say "Kalimera" to everyone.
I have followed your amazing trip and, while I am glad you are home safe, I am sad not to be able to imagine you seeing wondrous things and writing about them. We begin our domestic journey on Sunday to DC and then New York. It seems pale compared to what you have experienced. Still, we are excited especially to see Peter in DC and Tom in NYC. Welcome home.
